Dr. Noura Chalati was awarded the DAVO Dissertation Prize 2025 for her dissertation "Spying (on) Comrades: The Relations of the East German Stasi and the Syrian Mukhabarat" for the best dissertation in German or English in the field of contemporary Oriental studies submitted to a university in 2024.
