Three research institutions of the Leibniz Association have joined forces in the GWZ - Humanities Centers Berlin: the Center for General Linguistics (ZAS), the Center for Literary and Cultural Research (ZfL) and the Center for Modern Oriental Studies (ZMO). With currently around 220 employees at our two locations in Berlin, we are one of the leading non-university institutions in the field of the humanities.

The GWZ have a joint administration that takes on various science management tasks. To fill a position in the budget and finance department, we are looking for a

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (m/f/d) (ID NUMBER: AD25-03)

Full-time or part-time (at least 30 hours/week) - up to a maximum of E 11 TVöD Bund - permanent

/// YOUR TASKS WITH US include

  • Processing and posting business transactions
  • Continuous account reconciliations and account clarifications
  • Execution of ongoing payment transactions with creation of domestic and international transfers and control of bank transactions
  • Creation of accruals and provisions
  • Participation in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Support with the annual audit, operational/third-party audits and other audits
  • Creation of financially relevant evaluations
  • Implementation of asset accounting

/// WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU

  • Completed commercial training or university degree with a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a comparable field of study
  • Sound knowledge of business accounting and financial accounting
  • sound knowledge and skills in the use of ERP systems, ideally MACH, DATEV or similar
  • At least three years of professional experience in financial accounting or a comparable position
  • additional knowledge of cameralistic budget management and/or accounting for a non-profit organization desirable
  • Ability to work in a team as well as a careful, structured and reliable way of working
