The Leibniz Center for General Linguistics is part of the GWZ – Geisteswissenschaftliche Zentren Berlin, a network of three research institutions of the Leibniz Association: the Leibniz Center for General Linguistics (ZAS), the Leibniz Center for Literature and Cultural Research (ZfL), and the Leibniz Center Modern Orient (ZMO). The GWZ has a shared administration.
We are looking for a:
IT ADMINISTRATOR (ALL GENDERS)
Part-time position (up to 19.5 hours per week) – up to Pay Grade 11 of the TVöD Bund – fixed-term position as a substitute through December 31, 2027
You will serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related matters at the institute. You will report directly to the institute’s management and use your experience and initiative to provide optimal support to the institute’s employees. You will collaborate with an IT service provider.

- Setting up and maintaining the services required in a research environment
- Administration of Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS workstations and laptops for employees.
- Administration of the Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, as well as Active Directory
- Administrative Measures for Data Security and Data Protection
- Employee support and assistance
- Participation in IT procurement and IT projects
- Communication and control of the IT service provider

- University degree in computer science or related fields, or a successfully completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration, or equivalent proven skills and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and macOS
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, and SharePoint
- In-depth expertise in network technology and network communications
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and in a goal-oriented manner
- Good communication and organizational skills
- A high degree of responsibility and service orientation
- Proficiency in German and English
