Digital exhibition "Hassan Heshmat: A visionary of his time"

ZMO is pleased to present an audiovisual exhibition on its website.

The work of Hassan Heshmat (1920-2006), one of the most important sculptors of modern Egypt, is being researched for the first time and is now being shown in a digital exhibition with five audio stations. Heshmat exhibited internationally for decades - on both sides of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. He created large-scale sculptures in urban spaces, not only in Egypt, but also in the USA, Europe and Asia. Hassan Heshmat built bridges throughout his life - between past and present, between folk art and modernity, between Egypt and the world.

Julia Tieke was in conversation with Katharina Maria Raab and Sonja Hegasy for the five listening stations. To the exhibition: https://www.zmo.de/wissenstransfer/h-heshmat-digital
